Join one of our Train Walks
To take part in the Train Walk and help raise money for people living with autism, all you need to do is sign up for a walk near you. As summer approaches and the walks are confirmed they will be listed on our website, take a look in the section find your nearest Train Walk to see if there is one that suits you. If not email your details to trainwalk@nas.org.uk and let us know the locations you wish to walk in and we’ll let you know when a walk that matches your requirements is organised.
After you have registered to join a Train Walk, you will receive an email which acts as your ticket to take part in the walk, it will list of the details of your chosen Train Walk, and will include a link to the all important fundraising form so that you can start collecting sponsorship pledges from friends, family and colleagues.
Alternatively, you can collect sponsorship money online. Just Giving is a quick and easy way of collecting sponsorship from colleagues and friends. Visit www.justgiving.com/nationalautistic/raisemoney/
Here are some tips for collecting sponsorship money:
·
make sure your first sponsor is generous - this way the others are more likely to
follow suit
·
take your sponsor forms with you wherever you go if you have a personal reason for supporting The National Autistic Society, share it as people tend to respond well to personal stories
·
make sure that your sponsors tick the Gift Aid column on the sponsorship form and that all details are filled in. This could mean we get an extra 28 pence for every £1 that's donated
·
thank everyone and keep them involved with your progress; you could also send them news or photos after doing the Train Walk.
