Isle of Wight Train Walk
The NAS Isle of Wight Branch held their Train Walk at Havenstreet Woods, Isle of Wight Steam Railway, on Saturday 25 July. Soon after 6pm, Thomas gave the signal for the walk to be led off by a branch member dressed up as Sir Topham Hatt.
Louise Foley, NAS Isle of Wight Branch Officer, said:
"Our Train Walk event turned out to be a fantastic evening out for families affected by autism and I am extremely grateful to Liz Taggart and everyone at the Isle of Wight Steam Railway for all of their help.
As well as the sponsored walk the children were able to see Thomas having a rest from his busy 'Days out with Thomas' event. Children also enjoyed the bouncy castles, chair-o-planes and sit 'n' ride Austin cars.
Families were able to have something to eat as Havenstreet staff put on a barbecue for us to enjoy. One parent, with the help of her mum, organised a cake stall where people chose from a huge selection of scrumptious cakes to make a donation. Feedback from the event has been very good and we are hoping to be able to organise something similar next year."
Louise has raised a fantastic £1 ,836 from her Train Walk for the Isle of Wight Branch. Thank you everyone for all your support!
